Common questions
How do I show the personalizer?
Make a template in the app and press “Save and show in my store”, then “Show it on my product page”. Your theme editor opens with Personalizer switched on (App embeds): press Save. It shows above the Buy buttons by itself. To place it elsewhere, add the “Personalizer” block to the product page instead.
How are personalization prices charged?
Shopify adds them at checkout, as a “Personalization” line under the product, from the prices in your template. Nothing depends on the shopper’s browser, so an order can’t go through at the product price alone. Every order is checked again; if a price is ever missing, Home lists the order and it gets the tag “personalization-unpaid”.
Where do I find the shopper’s text and photo?
On the order in Shopify, under the product: each field, the photo link and a preview link. The app’s Orders page shows the preview, the photo and the print files with download links.
What are print files?
On the Print plan, each print area is saved as a PNG at the size and dpi you set (300 dpi by default), drawn exactly like the preview. Big areas, like a T-shirt front, are made in your admin when you click “Make print files”, because phones can’t draw them.
What if a photo is too small?
The shopper sees a warning when their photo would print below the dpi you set (150 by default). They can still order.
Does “Buy it now” work?
Dynamic checkout buttons skip the cart, so the app hides them on personalized products (Settings). The normal Add to cart works with every theme we tested, starting with Dawn.
Subscriptions and pre-orders
Shopify doesn’t run cart functions on items sold with a subscription or pre-order plan, so personalization prices can’t be added to those. Such orders are flagged on Home.
Is there an order limit?
Free shows 10 personalized orders a month in the app; your product pages never stop working and every order keeps its details in Shopify. Pro and Print have no limit and no per-item fees.
How long are files kept?
90 days after the order by default; on a paid plan choose 30 to 365 days in Settings. Designs that were never ordered are deleted after 3 days.
